What we did
Temple University Campus Bookstore Fit-Out
This project involved the complete interior fit-out of a vanilla box space to create the new Temple University Campus Bookstore - a modern, student-focused retail environment designed for functionality, comfort, and aesthetic appeal.
Scope of work included the installation of new acoustical ceilings to enhance sound control, along with striking Arktura slotted ceiling systems that add architectural interest and contribute to the space's visual identity. Portions of the ceiling remained exposed and were expertly painted, blending industrial and contemporary design elements.
Flooring installations featured a mix of carpet tiles and VCT to accommodate both high-traffic areas and comfortable browsing spaces. A custom lighting package included linear LED fixtures, designed to deliver efficient, even illumination while complementing the modern aesthetic.
Extensive mechanical modifications and tie-ins to existing base building systems were performed to ensure seamless integration with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure - meeting performance standards without disrupting the building’s core operations.
A key challenge of this project was a strict timeline requirement: the space had to be fully operational prior to the start of the academic year. This demanded close coordination among trades, efficient scheduling, and proactive issue resolution to ensure an on-time delivery.
